The Department of Sociology, University of Toronto Mississauga, invites applications for a fulltime tenure-stream appointment at the rank of Associate and/or Full Professor level with primary
interest in the sociology of health and/or mental health, starting July 1, 2014. A Ph.D. in
Sociology or a closely related field is required. Candidates must have an excellent research and
teaching record.
Salary is commensurate with qualification and experience.
The appointment is at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM), which is a researchintensive institution having an interdisciplinary commitment, a multicultural student body, and a
modern and spacious campus. The University offers the opportunity to conduct research, teach

work in a range of collaborative programs and centres of research.
Successful candidates will teach in the undergraduate program at the University of Toronto
Mississauga. They will also be a member of the Graduate Department of Sociology, University
of Toronto and will be expected to develop an independently funded program of research and
