Job Description
The Department of Sociology at Boston University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, beginning Fall 2014. This position is subject to final budgetary approval. We seek a colleague who studies social stratification using quantitative methods, focusing on any combination of race, class, gender or other forms of inequality. The position requires teaching skills and interests in basic and advanced quantitative methods for sociologists; we expect that our new colleague will contribute to collaborations on the graduate-level teaching of statistical methods across social science departments. The ability to complement existing department strengths in global comparative analysis and the study of gender and race is a plus.
Boston University expects excellence in teaching and in research and is committed to building a culturally diverse faculty and a multicultural learning environment. We expect PhD in hand before September 2014.
