University of North Dakota-Department of Sociology is seeking applicants for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Sociology beginning August 16, 2014. Teaching areas include: Introduction to Sociology, Deviance, Juvenile Delinquency, and courses in the candidate’s specialty area. Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in Sociology or evidence of its completion before appointment. Evidence of excellence or promise of excellence in teaching effectiveness and research is required. The candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, maintain an active research program and provide service to the university and the discipline. Salary is dependent upon qualifications. The University of North Dakota, the state’s flagship university, offers opportunities to collaborate with social scientists affiliated with the Northern Plains Center for Behavioral Research, the Center for Rural Health, and the Center for Conflict Resolution. Regular teaching load is five courses per year.
