I am thinking of submitting to Race and Social Problems. I know the journal is relatively new, but the editorial board has many prominent race scholars and several big names have published in RSP too. Any experience with RSP? Opinion about journal?

I received a reject decision 2 months after initial submission. Two reviewers- one very positive, one very negative; both gave minimal feedback (i.e., 4-5 suggestions). The editor explicitly stated that they publish very few qualitative papers and decided to reject because one of the reviewers recommended rejection.

Strong editorial board!!!! However, I had a paper under review there for 8 months (Eight). I would shoot higher first..
