Bioethics Post-doctoral Scholar Position
Center for Ethics and Humanities in the Life Sciences

The Center for Ethics and Humanities in the Life Sciences at Michigan State University invites applications for a post-doctoral Research Associate position in bioethics.
The Postdoctoral Scholar will devote most of his or her time to conducting one or more scholarly or research projects in any area of bioethics for which the Center for Ethics faculty can provide mentoring. Current areas of faculty research can be found on the People page of the Center for Ethics website at bioethics.msu.edu. Projects will be expected to result in at least 2 first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals over two years. Scholars will also be expected to devote 20% of their time to the Center for Ethics’ teaching and curriculum development. Clinical ethics service experiences are available in accordance with the Scholar’s needs and interests.
Scholars will be appointed to a 1-year, 12-month Research Associate position that will be renewable for a second year if the Scholar is making satisfactory progress. Salary will be $65,000 per year, with health and other benefits provided under Michigan State University policy. The appointment can begin as soon as mutually agreeable.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or other terminal degree in a discipline relevant to bioethics scholarship and show evidence of outstanding scholarly potential.
