Does anyone know anything about this position at University of Missouri - Columbia?
"The Department of Rural Sociology in the Division of Applied Social Sciences (DASS) seeks applications and nominations for a tenure-track assistant professor position to support its research and teaching programs in rural sociology"
why so late? is it a legitimate opportunity or do they have someone waiting in the hanger for it?

Sorry, but is this the job with the March 1 deadline, or is it a new job listing? The March 1 job was listed at least since December so it doesn't strike me as being all that late.

Yeah. This one has been around a while. I'd say they keep reposting it to get more interest. It is a pretty specific position.

The Rural Soc department is separate from the Soc department at Mizzou. The Rural soc department is oriented a bit more toward community-action research and applied sociology, if that helps with anyone interested in the position.
