The Department of Sociology at the College of William and Mary invites applications for a visiting assistant professor, beginning August 2013. This is a one-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal; Ph.D. in sociology or related field required by the time of appointment. We seek a broadly trained medical sociologist with scholarly and teaching interests in one or more of the following areas: global health, epidemiology, health disparities, health technology, and the organization of health care or health care policy. Teaching experience and promise of excellence in undergraduate teaching is essential. The successful candidate will be expected to teach medical sociology, introductory sociology courses, and other courses in the candidate’s areas of expertise. The following items are required: a curriculum vitae, a cover letter describing the candidates scholarship and teaching areas, research statement, teaching statement, writing sample, and three letters of reference (submit the email addresses of the recommenders via the online system).
