The Department of Sociology and Social Work at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point has a tenure-track opening beginning fall of 2013. Position Announcement Number 13-52F95 Assistant Professor of Sociology Assistant professor will teach family sociology, including Marriage and Families, Sociology of Childhood, Sociology of Adolescence, Cultural Perspectives of Family, and other courses as the need arises. The successful candidate also will be expected to teach freshman level Introduction to Sociology and/or Social Problems. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in sociology or have attained ABD status with an expected degree completion date of August 2014 for consideration for retention. The Department is seeking a person with a strong commitment to, and demonstrated excellence in, undergraduate teaching. Salary is commensurate with experience. Teaching assignments will typically be 12 credits per semester. Responsibilities also include scholarship and university service. Appointment date is August 2013.
