Pacific Lutheran University. The Department of Sociology at Pacific Lutheran University seeks candidates for a full-time visiting position at the rank of Assistant Professor. This is a one year appointment beginning in 2013-2014, with the possibility of renewal for up to two additional years. The successful candidate will be a generalist with primary specializations in family, gender, and race and secondary specialization in criminology, and will teach six courses per year. In 2013-2014, these courses are Introduction to Sociology (2 sections), Family, Race/Ethnicity, Gender & Violence, and Gender & Society; subsequent years will also include courses in Social Problems and Criminology. Commitment to and record of effective teaching at the undergraduate level is required. ABD candidates will be considered, but Ph.D. must be in hand by September 1, 2013.
