New Mexico State University’s Department of Sociology, which houses the Women’s Studies Program, invites applications for a position of assistant professor of sociology with a Fall 2012 starting date. The successful candidate will have earned a doctorate in Sociology or related field by the time of appointment, and will have a commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching both in the classroom and online. We are searching for candidates with primary field in Social Inequality, secondary field open. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities include teaching three classes per semester in the Department’s undergraduate and graduate curriculum, developing courses in area of specialization and pursuing an active scholarship agenda. Other duties include professional development, advising students, and service.
