DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY. The Department of Sociology at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a tenure earning Assistant Professor position beginning in August 2013 (pending final budgetary approval). A Ph.D. in Sociology from a regionally accredited university at the time of appointment is required. The successful candidate must demonstrate that they have an active program of research and the potential to secure external funding or manage research projects. In addition they must be able to teach undergraduate courses in research methodology, statistics, or data analysis. Demonstrated evidence of external funding is preferred. Experience with research approaches in an applied setting (program evaluation, community development, participatory action, and mixed-method research) is desirable as the candidate is expected to have a significant research and administrative role in the department’s Institute for Social and Behavioral Sciences.
