The positions are open field with preference for one position in the teaching areas of urban sociology, gender, deviance/crime/law, and/or medical sociology. Applicants are expected to teach introduction to sociology and/or sociological theory. Other courses must meet departmental needs but will be tailored to the candidate’s interests and strengths. Successful candidates are expected to contribute to the broader college curriculum. Responsibilities also include the supervision of undergraduate senior capstone projects. Applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to quality, innovative undergraduate liberal arts teaching, a commitment to working with academically-oriented undergraduates, and an active research agenda. Applicants should send: a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching and research statements, a description of teaching experience, including course syllabuses and, if available, student evaluations; and three letters of recommendation to secure.interfolio.com/apply/21341. Screening of applications will begin immediately; applications will be accepted until April 1, 2013. Bard College is an equal opportunity employer and we welcome applications from those who contribute to our diversity. AA/EOE
