The A&M University-Texarkana is currently seeking an outstanding candidate for the position of Assistant Professor, Sociology. The successful candidate will have comprehensive knowledge in the field of sociology and will prepare to assist in the building of a thriving sociology program at Texas A&M University - Texarkana. Faculty in the College of Education and Liberal Arts are expected to engage in teaching, research, and service, as it pertains to the faculty member's field, the college and university. In addition, the search committee seeks an individual with the skill necessary to continue and enhance the integration of technology into both traditional and distance delivery formats.
Qualifications:
Minimum Educational Requirements
Earned Ph.D. in Sociology or equivalent field
Evidence of an active research agenda
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
18 or more graduate hours in Criminal Justice
College teaching experience
Experience in web-based instruction
Evidence of scholarly publications
Evidence in professional organizations
Responsibilities:
Teach Sociology courses as assigned
Advise and recruit new students to the discipline
Engage in service to the university, community, and profession
Engage in research activity
