Position Summary
The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Lecturer of Sociology in the Political Science and Sociology Department. This anticipated opening is for the 2013-2014 academic year and is a one year initial appointment subject to subsequent multi-year reappointments without limit (non-tenure track).
The candidate would be expected to: teach 12 credits per semester; serve on committees; advise students; and maintain disciplinary currency.

Required Degree, Licenses or Certifications:
Doctoral degree
ABD candidates may be considered with degree completion expected by date of employment
Required Skills or Software:
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
Other Requirements:
Doctoral degree in Sociology.
Applicants should have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching core and elective courses at the introductory and upper levels, as well as in their areas of research. Applicants should also have a willingness to engage in student development through academic advising and experiential learning, and be able to help strengthen and build a burgeoning sociology program.
Preferred Qualifications:
A specialization in global sociology is preferred but all areas will be considered.
