Ithaca College’s Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure-eligible Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2013. We seek a colleague whose teaching and research explore the connections between health and inequalities from a critical perspective. Ideal candidates will complement and add to current faculties’ expertise and the department’s emphasis on public sociology. We encourage applications from candidates who examine health and inequalities as they relate to: changing social landscapes, global processes, border crossings, or transnational changes. The department welcomes applications from all qualified applicants. In addition to teaching courses on health and inequalities, successful candidates will also be expected to teach Introduction to Sociology.
Position/Job Qualifications
Ph.D. in Sociology is preferred at the time of appointment; however, ABD candidates who have made significant progress towards completion of their degree are also encouraged to apply. Candidates must provide evidence of successful teaching at the undergraduate level and have an active research agenda.
