I have published in Sex Roles recently. The journal is definitely friendly to feminist research and people do read and cite it (mostly Psychologists though). It does has a real positivist slant, probably prefers more quantitative stuff than Gender & Society. The reviewers spent a good amount of time discussing methodological details relating to measurement errors and testing a hypothesis. If you have more qualitative papers one might try "Feminism & Psychology" or "Psychology of Women Quarterly"

Excellent experience! The current editor, Janice Yoder, is very friendly to sociological work and gave great feedback throughout the process. The reviews were very helpful, and the turn-around time was fast (~3 months for r&r, 1 month for conditional accept).
