Oregon State has scheduled telephone interviews. The wiki suggests at least two.

wow, that was fast. the deadline was oct. 1 and they only asked for names of references in the application. so, that means in less than 2 weeks they went through the applications, made a long list, asked for letters, received the letters, and then decided on a short list. super speedy.
can anyone confirm they have a phone interview?

Yes, I can confirm that I have a phone interview scheduled.
That's a good point, though, that they only asked for reference names. I'm not sure that they have asked for my reference letters yet. If I get a chance I'll ask my letter writers, although I'm not sure if they will have noticed. They are getting so many automatically generated emails through online systems that they may not have noticed.

Some schools place more emphasis on the references than others. The department where I went to grad school was pretty much only concerned with the cv and the letters (mostly who wrote them), while the research II university where I am now only uses them to narrow down the finalists. They want to make sure they're not spending resources on interviewing crazy people:) Perhaps Oregon State is in the latter?

The wiki indicates that Oregon State has contacted folks for campus interviews.
