Just noticed that Furman sent requests for more materials. Anyone willing to share what those materials are? Thanks a bunch .

Curious if you don't mind sharing, when did you submit your materials?
The deadline was just this past Monday and I can't imagine they already sorted through all the material that came in right around the deadline unless the chair is making decisions without a committee at this first round.

I was asked to submit additional materials, but not all of the materials the posters above listed, well before the deadline. Not sure what is happening here!! Stay sane, everyone!

They are only asking for a CV and cover letter from applicants, so it is probably not too difficult to go through the pile and decide who they want to look at more seriously.
FWIW I met with them at ASA. After the meetings, they asked me to submit reference letters and writing samples with the rest of my application materials. It seems to me that they are trying to identify promising candidates as they go.

I had not been contacted for more info, but it turns out that a) I already had submitted references because I hadn't noticed that they didn't ask for them in the ad, and b) in my letter I had provided a website with all of my relevant materials and so they were able to get additional information there.
Lesson learned: a lack of request for more materials may not always signal a lost cause.

'crapboo', you make it sound like a short list has been made or something. Furman's deadline for applications was only 9 days ago...can anyone verify that SERIOUS movement has been made on this search? Like, not the kind of movement where additional but standard application materials have been requested. I'm talking meaningful movement....e.g., short lists, phone interviews, etc.
