I'm a bit confused about this position. While its in the Vandy Soc Dept, it has ties with Meharry Medical College, & digging around the RWJF grant is to increase understanding of racial disparities in health. I also have not seen a position which has specified illness. Are looking for a social psychologist who studies race disparities in health, without saying so? Please note I'm trying to decode the ad, and am *not* saying they are explicitly trying to hire minorities [as some archie bunkers may conclude].

My understanding is that a significant part of the funding for the line comes from a grant from RWJF to the research center base din the med school. However, faculty affiliates need to have a tenure home in one of the departments. In this case sociology.
