The Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at St. Ambrose University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in criminal justice, beginning in August 2013. The Department offers a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Masters of Criminal Justice (MCJ). The interdisciplinary curriculum is focused on the study of the criminal justice system in the context of social justice. An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Criminal Justice or a related field with a strong emphasis on criminal justice is required, along with excellence in teaching, scholarly engagement, and dedication to service. Review of applications will begin October 15, 2012. St. Ambrose is an independent, comprehensive, and Catholic diocesan university firmly grounded in liberal arts. The University is located in Davenport, Iowa, part of the Quad Cities on the banks of the Mississippi. Around 3500 students are enrolled in over 70 undergraduate and 14 graduate programs.
