Kenyon College, a highly selective, nationally ranked liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for a tenure-track position in sociology at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in July 2013. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in sociology by Fall 2013. Some teaching experience and a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching and active scholarship are also expected. Responsibilities include teaching a 3/2 course load over two semesters, with one or more of these courses contributing to our core curriculum in theory and methods. We seek a broadly trained sociologist who possesses an integrative sense of the discipline and its significance for understanding society as a whole. We especially encourage applicants whose areas of expertise include comparative-historical sociology, but the successful applicant's theoretical, methodological, and topical specialization is open.
