Twelve-month administrative and teaching appointment as Department Head of Sociology and Social Work and BSW Program Director. This includes planning, organizing, staffing, directing, coordinating, reporting, evaluating, and budgeting for the department. There are 13 faculty members in this department that includes the Baccalaureate Social Work Program and the Sociology Program.
In addition to traditional faculty responsibilities, the department head is responsible for representing the department and its faculty; managing the departmental budget; planning curriculum; managing the departmental office and personnel; and accepting other duties as may be assigned by the dean of the college or by university policy. The successful candidate must possess the ability to foster collegiality among the department faculty, the college, and university community. Supports and encourages faculty teaching, research, and service commitments and stimulate their pursuits of professional development activities.
Doctoral degree in Social Work is required.
Prior experience directing a BSW Program is required.
A minimum of five years teaching experience in a BSW Program required.
Must have teaching, research, and service at the baccalaureate level sufficient to meet requirements for Professor at JSU.
