Can someone tell me where this job was initially posted? Maybe I'm simply overlooking it, but I didn't see it posted on the ASA job bank. But if I didn't overlook it, and the job hasn't been broadly advertised, is this meaningful in any way that I should be aware of as a possible applicant? Thanks for any help.

Can someone tell me where this job was initially posted? Maybe I'm simply overlooking it, but I didn't see it posted on the ASA job bank.It looks like it is from their website: affact.siuc.edu/posts/faculty/cola675.htmlBut if I didn't overlook it, and the job hasn't been broadly advertised, is this meaningful in any way that I should be aware of as a possible applicant? Thanks for any help.Probably not meaningful. The deadline isn't until October, and most schools can only afford a one-month ad in the ASA Job Bank. I could see them waiting until August to post it there. They might post it here now because it's free, to get the word out. Advice: don't try to read too much into the externalities of a job posting. Just pay attention to the text of the ad: if you're qualified and think you might enjoy taking the position, you should apply.

SIUC is an R-1, so it makes sense they would have a 2-2 teaching load and emphasis placed on research. Does anyone else have insight into the position?
