The Sociology Department announces an Assistant Professor, tenure-track opening for a Doctoral level applicant. The applicant should have a background in both sociology and social work, with expertise in working with a diverse student body and first-generation college women. A qualified applicant will have extensive experience in classroom instruction (both live and online), academic advising, and be prepared to teach a broad selection of sociology courses offered in the undergraduate curriculum. Applicants must be prepared to support college-wide Admissions events and be involved in student mentoring and interaction. The successful candidate will be professionally active and maintain scholarly research. Studies of first-generation college experience and gender equality are of particular interest.
