WRIGHT STATE UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY AND ANTHROPOLOGY INSTRUCTOR OF SOCIOLOGY Wright State University seeks a candidate for an instructor position within the Department of Sociology. The non-tenure track appointment will start Fall semester 2012, with possibilities for academic year to year renewal. This position requires previous college level teaching experience. A Ph.D. in Sociology is preferred, but candidates who are A.B.D. or have an M.A. in Sociology or a related field will be considered. In the fall of 2012 the University will convert to the semester system, and teaching loads for this position will be four courses per semester (3 credit hours each). The candidate must provide evidence of their capability to teach large introductory sociology courses. A graduate teaching assistant is provided to assist with grading and other tasks. There may be future possibilities to teach honors sections and on-line classes. First consideration begins July 2, 2012 and continues until the position is filled. A signed letter of interest, curriculum vitae, student evaluation of teaching, peer evaluation of teaching if available, and introductory course syllabi should be sent as an electronic submission to jobs.wright.edu/postings/.
