I've had a pretty positive experience there recently (fast turnaround, good feedback), but it was a special edition, so I don't know how much it would apply to normal submissions.

I submitted something a month ago and as of this week it's still unassigned. Given my experience with other journals and comments here, I'm somewhat concerned

I had a good experience there about 7 months ago...the paper got an r&r and was then accepted...excellent feedback from reviewers and editor.

Anyone have more recent experiences with a non-special issue? Has WoX turned the corner?

I submitted a paper 5 weeks ago and it's still awaiting reviewers assignment. I'm a bit concerned after reading the comments above.
Any recent experiences with WoX?

I just had a paper there. It took a long time for them to assign reviewers, about 6-10 weeks. But then the first decision came about 6-8 weeks after that. I'm still trying to figure out how that worked, but it's possible that someone is spending a lot of time on the editorial team reading the papers and doing desk rejects before sending it out. Although I suppose it's also possible they're understaffed.

I had a good experience with W+O fairly recently. It was not the fastest (or slowest) turnaround time, but I suspect that was because of difficulty finding reviewers for the paper. Interactions with all of the editorial staff were timely. Reviews were difficult but very thorough.

send your paper somewhere else if you think it has a chance.

send your paper somewhere else if you think it has a chance. Why? Time to review? Bad editors?

...is just astoundingly ridiculous.
