The University of Southampton is hiring two lecturers in Demography and one in Gerontology. These positions are equivalent to tenure-track assistant professor positions and become permanent after three years. While they would prefer someone with an expertise in mortality, they are interested in strong candidates in any field of demography, (and quantitative sociology), or aging. The position is open to all, not just UK or EU citizens. Southampton is one and a half hours from London, and it is possible to commute or live somewhere in between. The department of Social Statistics and Demography is one of the few clusters of demographers in the UK. The up-and-coming Centre for Population Change is similar to a Population Studies Institute. The application deadline is June 25, and the position starts in the fall. Please see the following link for further information.
