The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin January 1, 2013 in the areas of classical and contemporary sociological theory. The sub-areas of specialization are open. Applicants must have a PhD or strong prospect of completion before January 2013 in sociology or in a related discipline. A solid research record and a demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching are required.
The department offers both undergraduate and graduate (MA and PhD) programs. Department members engage in undergraduate and graduate teaching and research, and community involvement is also encouraged. The department supports a variety of theoretical and methodological orientations.
