The College of Coastal Georgia (CCGA) seeks applications for a tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor of Sociology to join the School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to have a commitment to excellence in teaching through student engagement and service-learning, service to the institution, and professional development and scholarship. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to work cooperatively with others,and to teach a five/five load of undergraduate courses during the day and evenings in two campus locations.The position is an academic year (10 month) tenure track appointment and will begin no later than 1 August 2012. Rank and salary are commensurate with credentials and experience. Essential qualifications include a Ph.D. in Sociology from an accredited institution, experience teaching Sociology at the undergraduate level, and evidence of professional development and scholarship. Preference is for applicants with a strong background in general sociology, research methodology, and interest in psychology, organizational leadership, or criminal justice. Additionally, preferred applicants must demonstrate the willingness to collaborate with baccalaureate programs in human services psychology,community and organizational leadership, business, and public affairs.
