JOB DETAILS:
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for a lecturer position in Sociology to begin fall 2012 (full-time, 9-month, possibly renewable). Candidate contract period begins August 22, 2012.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A PhD in Sociology is preferred; ABD in Sociology is acceptable. Duties include teaching 'Principles of Sociology,' 'Contemporary Social Problems,' and 'Marriage and Family.' Teaching load is 5 classes per semester. The ability to teach courses in human relations and anthropology is a plus. The successful candidate may be asked to teach upper-level classes in their area of specialty. Previous successful teaching experience at the college level and/or other evidence of effective teaching skills is required. Demonstrable skills in oral and written communication are also required.
