Job Description:
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Department of Sociology at the University of Connecticut invites applications for an APIR position to begin August 23, 2012. This is a full-time, 9 month appointment for one year, though the position is renewable subject to annual evaluations, and funding. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate teaching and mentoring. The typical course load is three + four each academic year. This position does not lead to academic tenure.
PhD in sociology; an ability to teach courses on sociology of the family and a variety of introductory sociology courses; and a track record of teaching excellence.
Ability to teach a variety of upper division courses and classes of different sizes; and evidence of a research program. In accordance with the University’s commitment to diversity and excellence, candidates are expected to contribute through teaching, research, and/or public engagement to the diversity and excellence of the learning experience.
This is a full-time, 9 month appointment for one year, though the position is renewable subject to annual evaluations, and funding. This position does not lead to academic tenure.
