PEPPERDINE UNIVERSITY: The Social Science Division invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in sociology to begin Fall 2012, subject to budgetary approval. We seek candidates with research or teaching experience in one or more of the following areas: Criminology and Juvenile Delinquency, Family, Social Psychology, and Education, but consideration will be given to any specialization within sociology. Qualifications include a Ph.D. in sociology, university teaching experience, evidence of scholarship, and a commitment to excellent teaching in a Christian liberal arts environment.
Applicants should prepare a cover letter and complete an Application for Faculty Employment (available at seaver.pepperdine.edu/about/employment/faculty.htm), which asks for a curriculum vitae, statements regarding the applicant’s research agenda, teaching philosophy, and support for the university mission, and contact information for three references. Submit materials electronically to Suzan Ton (suzan.ton@pepperdine.edu), with “Sociology Position” as the subject line. Review of applicants will begin September 1, 2011 and will continue until the position is filled. Early applicants may contact Dr. Robin Perrin (robin.perrin@pepperdine.edu) to arrange a meeting in Las Vegas, August 18-22, 2011.
