The Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies at Webster University (St. Louis) invites applications for a one-year residential post-doctoral fellowship. The Lentz Fellowship in Peace Studies and Human Rights honors the memory of the late Dr. Theodore Lentz, a founder of the discipline of peace research. The Fellowship is offered to support scholarly research related to the study of peace, international or intercultural conflict resolution, and/or human rights during the 2012/13 academic year (August 15, 2012-May 15, 2013).
The Lentz Fellow will have a 1:1 teaching load in Webster’s undergraduate human rights program, and will also be expected to give occasional public lectures and interviews. Opportunities will be available to invigorate research through interchange with the Lentz Peace Research Association, as well as with Webster colleagues and organizations in the Saint Louis area.
Eligibility: A Ph.D. must be completed before the start of the Fellowship on August 15, 2012. Graduates of university programs in peace studies and conflict resolution, political science, international relations, and other social science programs are invited to apply.
Stipend and allowances: The salary is $25,000 for the academic year appointment and carries university benefits. The Fellow will also be provided with office space, library privileges, and some administrative support.
Application and selection: Applicants should provide a curriculum vitae, evidence of Ph.D. completion (transcripts or a letter from the dissertation chair), three letters of recommendation, and a research proposal of approximately 1,000 words. The application deadline is April 27, 2012. Please send materials to Dr. Lindsey Kingston at lkingston54@webster.edu. No phone inquiries, please.
