Kent State University at Ashtabula. Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the Ashtabula Campus beginning August, 2012. The department has specializations in the areas of health and health care/mental health, social psychology, inequality (race/ethnicity, class and gender) and criminology and deviance. We seek teacher-scholars whose teaching and research interests advance these areas of specialization and who have a strong interest in teaching.
A tenure-track appointment carries with it the expectations of teaching excellence, a developing research career, professional development, and campus and community service. The Ashtabula Campus is one of seven Regional Campuses of Kent State University and is located in Northeast Ohio about 50 miles east of Cleveland. The Regional Campuses are designed to provide local access to a Kent State University degree. The faculty on the Regional Campuses twelve units per semester and are actively engaged in pedagogical innovation. The Sociology Department has eleven tenure track faculty at the Regional Campuses and twenty-one tenure-track faculty at the Kent Campus.
