The Department of Social Sciences is seeking to appoint a Research Associate to work on an EU-funded project to develop methodologies for evaluating inequalities in health. The appointment would be until 31st July 2014 in the first instance but could be extended for an additional period. There is also potential to affiliate with a Cambridge College.
The successful candidate will be working with Dr. David Stuckler to assess the effects of recent social and economic policy changes on health and health inequalities in Europe. Tasks will include leading several analyses using secondary datasets, including the EU Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC) and the British Household Panel Survey data. The candidate will also contribute to writing research proposals on related topics.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in either social science or public health. They will also have had training and experience in using secondary data, have strong qualitative analysis skills and be proficient in using STATA and EndNote. They will possess excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication and organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail is essential.
