2 Quick questions here.
-So many applications are online or require materials to be emailed. If we have access to a service or staff that can submit electronic materials should we take advantage of that? Don't know if it's odd to have one's materials come from another source, or if it doesn't matter to the recipient.
-For email applications, does one send (yet another) "cover letter" - a note about the attached materials?

For emails, I have a formal cover letter and basically just say "I am applying for this position, here are my materials, including formal cover letter."

I do the same thing as yep. I'm paranoid so I also make sure to list all of the items that are attached in case something gets lost along the way.

Yes, listing the items gives you a double check as to whether you actually attached them...
