The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Alabama invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track instructor position to teach statistics from a social science perspective for several social science departments. The teaching load is four classes per semester for fall and spring. The position will be housed in the Department of Criminal Justice and at least two of the courses offered each semester will have a Criminal Justice focus. The remaining courses might be interdisciplinary serving students from a variety of departments and colleges. Position begins August 16, 2012 and is a three-year renewable contract position based on availability, funding, and departmental performance. A Master’s degree in a social science, statistics, or related field and demonstrated experience teaching statistics at the undergraduate level are required. Preference will be given to applicants with a PhD in criminal justice, sociology, or another social science.
