University of Missouri: Tenured/Tenure-Track Joint Appointment
Black Studies Program and Department of Sociology
The Black Studies Program and the Department of Sociology invite applications and nominations for a tenured/tenure-track position, effective August 2012. The successful candidate’s tenure home will be the Department of Sociology.
We are seeking a scholar whose primary research and teaching interests relate to the study of people of African descent in the United States, Africa, and the African Diaspora. Priority will be given to applicants whose research centers in the following areas: race, urban, organizations, education, migration, the criminal justice system, and family and health. The successful candidate must have completed the Ph.D. by the time of appointment, maintain a productive research and publication program, and be expected to teach courses in his or her field within sociology and Black Studies. Applications from underrepresented minority candidates are especially welcome. Review of applications will begin October 1, 2011 and continue until the position is filled.
