The Houston Education Research Consortium, part of the Kinder Institute for Urban Research, is looking to hire one or two postdocs to begin July 2012. Ruth Lopez Turley, Associate Professor of Sociology, is the HERC Director. The Houston Education Research Consortium (HERC) at the Kinder Institute for Urban Research is offering a one-year postdoctoral fellowship to begin July 2012. The Postdoctoral Fellow is encouraged to pursue his or her own research agenda during their year at Rice, but a major purpose of the fellowship is to invite meaningful participation in the analysis and reporting of findings of the Houston Education Research Consortium. HERC is a partnership between Rice University and the Houston Independent School District (HISD) which aims to produce rigorous research for the purpose of closing the socioeconomic gaps in educational achievement and attainment in Houston. This is a one-year appointment beginning July 1, 2012. More info here: jobs.rice.edu/applicants/jsp/shared/position/JobDetails_css.jsp
