Posting Summary: Youth-Nex, the Center to Promote Effective Youth Development in the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia seeks up to three motivated Research Scientists. The research will be focused upon four areas: promoting effective youth development; developing methods for intervention; prevention of problem behaviors and prevention of certain conditions/outcomes which affect youth. The center utilizes multi-discipline and multi-method participation from a variety of departments, colleges, schools and constituents, including distinguished faculty such as Patrick Tolan Ph.D., who is the Director of Youth-Nex. The incumbent(s) will be working collaboratively on: existing intervention studies; developing studies; related policies; risk and community-based evaluation research projects. Scholars interested in empirical study of how to promote effective youth development who utilizes ecological understanding, multi-disciplinary and/or mixed-methods approaches are highly desired.
Qualifications: A PhD in Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Education or related field is required. Post-doctoral training and experience in advanced methodological techniques are preferred.
