The Department of Sociology at Stanford University is seeking applicants for two tenured faculty positions. Areas of interest include but are not limited to political sociology, economic sociology, organizations, social psychology, and social stratification and inequality. Applicants will be expected to teach courses at both the graduate and undergraduate level. Special consideration will be given to those who are able to teach core courses in statistical methods, sociological theory, or research design. Applicants should submit curriculum vitae, bibliography, and a brief statement of research interest. Term of appointment would begin September 1, 2012. The review of applications will begin on November 1, 2011 and applicants are strongly encouraged to submit applications prior to that date; however, applications will continue to be accepted until the position is filled. Please apply online through Academic Jobs at: academicjobsonline.org/ajo/Stanford/Sociology. Only online submissions will be accepted. Stanford is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to increasing the diversity of its faculty. It welcomes nominations of, and applications from, women and members of minority groups, as well as others who would bring additional dimensions to the university’s research and teaching missions.

We could probably start a whole new thread about failed searches from last year.
The UDenver job is a retread too.
