I applied 30ish positions and got 4 campus visits in the past 2 years—still no tenure-track offer. I am starting my second postdoc and unsure whether I should continue to stay on the market for another 2 years.

But definitely start preparing for industry jobs too.

I've been on the market off and on for the last 7 years. I have applied to more schools and industry jobs I have lost count. I was working at a decent place until COVID. Now I have had 5 first round interviews, 3 second round interviews, 1 campus visit invite that turned into a disaster and withdrawing from consideration, and no offers. I am unfortunately ABD, and can't finish because of the new ways R-1s are evaluating programs leading to my PhD program being shutdown. I'm wondering if I should just give up completely and take a service sector job, cause that is all there are now?! The whole system of academics and the job market are a mess! Anyone have any advice other than to keep trying?

I’m sorry your PhD program was shut down. Unfortunately, this probably makes you less of an ABD in the eyes of search committees. Hopefully you received a master’s degree along the way, but even if you did you are no longer a PhD candidate with an expected completion date.
Perhaps this can be addressed with your current (former) program — they should have had some type of “teach out” plan for all that they had accepted into the program. If not, you might have to find a new institution.
In this market, having a masters as a terminal degree is going to be a serious disadvantage, especially if you not presenting yourself that way and the search committee only finds out later during an interview.
Good luck. Your situation sounds very frustrating.

Feeling defeated. Applied to about 20 jobs, had 10 Zoom interviews, 2 campus visits, and no offer… This whole process is mentally draining. I know its very little solace if no job is on the other end, but getting bites from half the places you apply to is sincerely amazing. You are a strong candidate, and should punch something through. I suffered 5 job market cycles with nowhere near your hit rate (I was called to interview maybe 5-10% of apps) before landing TT
