It would be fun to create a series of awards (perhaps call them "Dundees," a la Michael Scott) for schools hiring on this job board. We could create awards based on feedback from the forum.
So, have categories like:
"Kindest Rejection Letter" "Biggest Clusterfuck of an Online Submission System" "Most Additional Documents Required" "Highest Number of Areas of Interest Required in a Job Ad" "Worst Website (subcategory, 1996 Geocities-esque)" "Scariest Religious Oath Requirement"
etc....
Thoughts?

This is a good idea. I got an incredibly kind rejection letter last year, I'll see if I can dig it up.

Worst website definitely goes to the University of Maryland - Baltimore County www.umbc.edu/sociology/The first thing mentioned on their page is how sad it is.

I think I can top your entry for worst website. Concord University's Division of Social Sciences page: academics.concord.edu/socsci/#Programs_of_StudyNote on the bottom that it hasn't been updated since 2008. Also note that sociology is the only discipline/department without a link.

I nominate Connecticut College in the category of Bad Booby Prize. Those who got interviews remain unknown, everybody else won a privacy violation.

I nominate Connecticut College in the category of Bad Booby Prize. Those who got interviews remain unknown, everybody else won a privacy violation. I'll second that, & also nominate the college for 'Best Attempted Cover-Up [Nixon Prize]." The second email sent out was worse than the first, in my opinion, as they placed blame on an error, & did not admit a mistake. If mishandling data may lead to employment issues [up to not getting tenure], the college should at minimum apologize. not try to pretend a major issue did not happen.

I seem to recall this happening last year, too. I think it was Georgetown.

Last year CSU San Bernadino also sent out an email with all candidates' emails visible.

Yep, last year it was Georgetown that sent their "Confidential Applicant Form" along with the email addresses to all the applicants.

This year Sam Houston did it also. They sent out an email about a problem they were having with the HR app page to all applicants.

Well, I think that "Scariest Religious Oath Requirement" should definitely go to Shorter University (currently hiring - see job ab posted recently along with a news piece about the oath).
