The Department of Sociology at Furman University invites applications for an open-rank, tenure track professorship beginning Fall 2018. Research and teaching specialization is open, although we are seeking an interpretive sociologist who primarily utilizes qualitative methodologies and who would teach a qualitative research methods course. We also seek a candidate that can significantly contribute to Furman’s strategic vision, the Furman Advantage, and its enhanced commitment to diversity and inclusion coupled with direct engagement with community partners. Teaching load is five courses per year.
