Elon University invites applications for a continuing-track Assistant Professor position. Areas of specialization are open, but we are especially interested in candidates with an expertise in teaching stratification and environmental sociology/environmental justice and an ability to teach introduction to sociology. Additional interests in community studies, economic sociology, globalization/industrialization, political sociology, popular culture, or other areas not already covered by current faculty are welcomed. The position will begin mid-August 2018. Ph.D. in Sociology required. Candidates should demonstrate a deep commitment to teaching in a liberal arts environment and be prepared to teach the above courses and courses in Elon’s General Studies program. Candidates will have the opportunity to supervise undergraduate research, and should be pursuing an active scholarship agenda.
