The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track, nine-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2017. The position requires a Ph.D. in Sociology. Candidates who are ABD will be considered, however the position requires completion of all doctoral requirements in Sociology by September 15, 2017. Instructional duties typically include a 3:3 teaching load, student advising, curriculum development, and will entail online instruction. Faculty members are expected to maintain an active program of scholarship as well as participate in service activities.
This tenure-track position requires a specialization in aging and health as well as a commitment to building a curricular emphasis on health and social inequalities. The Department of Sociology seeks candidates who are interested in contributing to diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching, research, and outreach.
