Postdoctoral Fellowship in Network Analysis with GPN@NUS and the Department of Sociology
Professor Henry Yeung, together with Professor Neil Coe as co-Principal Investigator, at the Department of Geography was awarded a S$4.95 million research grant by the NUS Office of Deputy President (Research and Technology) in October 2014 to establish a Faculty-based research centre for the study of global production networks (GPN) and economic development, with a particular focus on Asia. Founded by a team of researchers from Geography, Economics, Sociology, and Political Science, this Centre is named GPN@NUS and the grant will end in September 2018 (though funding beyond 2018 will be sought).
The Centre now has about 20 full time assistant/associate professors, senior research fellows, postdoctoral fellows, and research assistants. In light of this significant research initiative and the availability of funding until the end of September 2018, we are now seeking to appoint ONE outstanding Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to the Centre's research activities in network analysis. The Postdoctoral Fellow will have access to large data sets covering six key sectors: (1) electronics; (2) automotive; (3) pharmaceuticals; (4) oil and gas; (5) finance and (6) logistics. The Postdoctoral Fellowship will also provide the appointee time for publishing his/her research and funding for international conference attendance (on application and subject to approval). The appointment can start anytime now and will end in September 2018.
