SERVICE & JUSTICE COORDINATOR
Xavier University, a Jesuit Catholic institution, seeks a full-time Service & Justice Coordinator with demonstrated experience planning and coordinating community engagement initiatives and experiential learning. This position facilitates engagement and learning around complex social issues with the end of fostering students' commitment to solidarity and justice. The position is a part of the Dorothy Day Center for Faith and Justice; the Center challenges students to deepen their spiritual lives, pursue justice and promote pluralism.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: advising and maturing Xavier's Alternative Breaks program; advising the Center's student clubs; coordinating student leader development initiatives; facilitating immersion learning experiences; and managing the Center's speaker series events. This position requires regular work in the evenings and on weekends.
Qualifications: bachelor's degree; two years professional experience planning and coordinating community engagement and service programs; two years experience working with student organizations; experience linking education and advocacy to service and community engagement; proven experience working in a team-oriented setting; proven capacity to collaborate with students and community organizations; administrative proficiency; and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred qualifications: master's degree; and familiarity with Catholic social teaching and/or Ignatian spirituality.
