Starting an AP job this fall and want to reach out to a couple of presses at ASA. I have contacts via advisors from a couple but there is one in particular I am interested in for which I don't have any "in". How do you find out before ASA who will be the rep/editor there? It feels like it would be more effective to email about meeting up before the meeting, rather than walking by the stand and trying to talk about your manuscript. Thanks for any insight!

Yes, setting up a meeting by appointment is better than trying to have a productive walk-up meeting.
Do you have any materials to show them? A prospectus, a sample chapter? If those are are ready, then you can send an email to the appropriate acquisition editor for your subfield and ask for a meet at ASAs and ask if they'd like to see your stuff in advance. Don't send them a chapter from your diss. In your email, you can always ask if you should be contacting another acquisition editor who will be at ASAs instead.
If you don't haven anything ready yet, I'd probably hold off. The meetings I had with editors before I had my materials ready always ended with them saying, "great, when you have your stuff ready, let me know." It sounds promising when they say it, but it is really not a commitment in any shape or form.
