The ad for this position was posted in the first half of February, but without an application deadline. I assumed it was OUF. Does anyone know what the time frame is for the hiring process?

They will not be reviewing applications until after April 12, so it will be awhile before anything is known.

Well, since it is not April 12th yet, I assume no movement. I kid I kid. This looks like a beautiful place.
I haven't heard anything.

I checked my online application and it says "posting closed". I don't know if that means they are no longer accepting apps or they are done with this search or perhaps something else entirely. Maybe it has no meaning at all. Others?

I believe what happened is that they were accepting applications through 4/12, at which point they closed submissions.
It's difficult to wait, as I suspect for many of us, we're down to the wire in terms of finding a job for the fall, but I imagine it will take a bit of time for the search committee to sift through all the applications.

I would be careful. I have a friend who works there and he is not very happy. This is a newly created institution--the result of a merger between North Georgia College and State University and Gainesville State College. At the moment, there is a lot of chaos. There are also administrators who seem to think the consolidation is a chance to become a research institution, despite a 4-4 teaching load and very limited support for research (very little travel money, no sabbaticals, etc.). Bottom line, junior hires will be burdened with high (and unwritten) research expectations even though their senior colleagues, in some cases, have done limited research. The pay is also crap.
As for the timeline, I know that it is the end of the semester (classes end April 29th), so I wouldn't expect a lot of movement on this one before then.
